I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior while a junior in high school. My college years were very formative to my spiritual journey due to involvement with campus ministry, a strong local church, and a vibrant small group. Following college, God called me into teaching and coaching—where I remained for 44 years. I extended my relationships with students by offering opportunities for Bible Studies and FCA Huddles.
My journey with FCA started in 1990 as we launched a huddle at our school in Pocahontas, Iowa. Through the years huddle members met locally, attended state retreats and participated in national FCA Sports Camps. In the early 90’s I was given the opportunity to coach at FCA camps. Not only were these camps instrumental for spiritual growth in our student athletes’ lives, but in my own family’s life as well.
I retired from teaching in 2020 and became a Rep for FCA in my area. It has been a natural fit as I build upon many existing relationships--having a blast interacting with coaches and teachers through adult huddles. Through these huddles, several individuals have become mobilized volunteers—now leading their own student or coach’s huddle. These volunteers multiply the times the gospel is shared and lives are changed.
